I was pretty sure the question had to do with suicide bombing in the name of Islam, but wanted to be positive before I said so. I now have the book in front of me and will quote it.
"Some people think that suicide bombing and other forms of violence against civilian targets are justified in order to defend Islam from its enemies. Other people believe that, no matter what the reason, this kind of violence is never justified. Do you personally feel that this kind of violence is often justified to defend Islam, sometimes justified, rarely justified, or never justified?"
Here are the results lumping together all those who said it was at least rarely justifiable:
Lebanon: 82%
Ivory Coast: 73%
Nigeria: 66%
Jordan: 65%
Bangladesh: 58% (19% refused to answer)
Mali: 54%
Senegal: 47%
Ghana: 44%
Indonesia: 43%
Uganda: 40%
Pakistan: 38% (23% refused to answer)
Turkey: 20%
Again these are the percentages of people who think suicide bombing and other forms of violence against civilians in defence of Islam is justified.
