Before the start of the final, the camera showed Nick white as a sheep, nervous, forcing himself to take deep breaths.
He was nervous, maybe scared.
Before the start of her semi-final Maggie looked more nervous and scared than she did before her heat.
Nick: Once the gun sounded, ran to his strategy and so was in good position with 100 to go, just ran out of steam after all the rounds.
Maggie: Once the gun sounded, reverted to the bad habit of giving into her emotions and ran like a high school girl; psyched out.
So, Nick seems tough and focused, and aggressive and competitive.
Maggive, not so much.
Is it possible to "coach up" Maggie and get her to be focused and competitive, and stop over thinking things, for her to get out of her ego and focus more on the "mechanics" of her race?
If so, how would an effective coach go about it?
I think she had it in her to make the final, and just got too nervous.
