I was curious if anyone has any experience or thoughts of using Hadd's approaches towards ultras? Specifically a fixed time event such as a 24 hour run, but any thoughts towards ultras, in general, would be appreciated. Thanks for your input.

dont do an ultra pretty soon you'll be growing out your hair and beard, looking like some kinda retro hippie and yapping endelessly about how "short" a marathon is.

Too late I guess. I've been doing them since 1999 and none of the above applies. I've just taken a year or so away from them to get a better handle on family things and a break from scheduled running. Now I'm looking to refocus my training effort and try to tackle some events for the first time. Thanks.
