Hi, Can anyone give me a sample base training routine for an athlete looking to break under 1:50 in the 800m?
Day 1
AM- 40 minutes easy PM- 10 x 400m/2min rec
Day 2
AM- 40 minutes easy PM- 7 x 800m in 2:10 with a 3 min rec. (Rest down to 60 seconds)
Day 3
AM- 40 minutes easy PM- 20 x 200m/1 min.
Day 4
AM- Long Run
Day 5
AM- 40 minutes easy PM- 5 x 1K with 90 sec rec seconds)
Day 6
AM- 40 minutes easy PM- Row 30-45 min. (Alternate this with triathlon 30/30/60)
Day 7
(30 min recovery bike + Stretch) or Yoga
