So I run about 25 miles a week, in a mid-stability shoe with well made orthotics to control excessively flexable ankles/pronation/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. Have been doing so for a few years, have run more milage in the past in marathon training (3:26:12, not too quick) but am now just wanting to keep in shape. Have decided to ditch the orthotics and try to get down to a neutral shoe. So, do I go cold turkey while cutting down milage and pace to allow my body to adapt, keep the milage up and use the orthotics for the longer stuff, a third (or fourth) alternative? Would like to keep running my 40k a week, but of course injury-free.
Over to ya'll. Much appreciated.
