From the Oregonian:
"A new structure for middle school cross country is about to launch in the Portland area. The plan is to have a four-meet series, including a race at the Nike Pre-Nationals.
The intent is to give middle school kids some exposure to a sport that has been historically strong in Oregon at the high school and college levels. The plan is to have meets on Sunday afternoons. Some of the local high school programs, such as Jesuit and Central Catholic, and others, are on board to help out.
You saw the list of coaches at the last meeting so it is pretty wide spread. Our goal is to get the word out there as school begins late this year. Check out the PDXC web page for more info."
