Where the hell is Daegu? South Korea? Why are we wasting a year of world championships in a city with population just over 2 million. To give point of reference for Americans, Daegu is slightly larger than Houston. Honestly, I would rather see Houston be the city, especially after nearby Beijing two years ago. Who makes these decisions? Is someone watching their bank account for suspicious deposit?
Yeah this is a stupid place to have it! IAAF and IOC are nuts. For petes sake they could have held in in Seoul!
It should have been Brisbane, Australia. There were bribes. The Brisbane folks were pretty appalled by what went on and spoke somewhat openly about it.

And why would Houston be better? because it's American? You have not given any reason as to why Daegu would be a bad place to hold the championships, other than that it isnt in the US. Obviously it isnt about size because you gave Houston as an alternative, and both are comparable in size. And obviously it can't be the weather, since I dont really imagine Houston would be much more pleasant than Daegu in summer
Since 1983 there have been 3 IAAF champinships in Asia, this will be the 4th. Europe has had 8. There's an obvious disparity here and the Olympics in Beijing have nothing to do with the IAAF WCs, they are seperate entities.
Daegu will be a good place to have the IAAF Championships.
That's a lot of waygookin even for Seoul.

I know Daegu is where Wallace Spearmon ran his 19.65, but that's all I know about it. Could be some great sprint times?
