Why oh why did they have to go and mess with the * perfect * shoe...
The Streak XC was not perfect.
If you could take the upper of the Streak XC and put it on the midsole of the Streak XC 2, however, I would be a happy camper.
To OP: The Streak XC2 is cheap because it is a racing flat. If your achilles is sore and you're not used to running in low profile shoes, it is a bad idea. In fact, its probably a bad idea even if you are used to running in racing flats.
One thing the minimalists don't tell you- before big, bulky shoes showed up, one of the most common career-enders was achilles tendonopathy. Take that for what you will.
