I've been coming back from an injury and have returned to my normal mileage (60 mpw) for the last four weeks. I feel great, lots of energy and legs feel healthy as ever. But the thing is, in building up over the past two months I have gained... TWENTY pounds. I had lost about that much while injured (7 months NO running), but gaining it back this rapidly has me scratching my head (and feeling puffy and horrible).
People still say I look thin and maybe I was too thin before, I'm just wondering why this is. I'm assuming it's muscle and water retention. I feel like my body is kinda freaking out and that maybe I ramped up my mileage too quickly or something.
Anyone experienced anything similar? Advice??? I'm a little paranoid about consciously trying to diet or lose weight... I don't know whether my body's trying to tell me something or it's trying to get back to a weight it likes.
