Bekele has won his last world or olympic title on the track. Mark my words. He is the greatest, but his best days are behind him now.

Maybe at 5000 he MAY not win, but looking at his 10k he is not going to be stopped very soon. As of now in the 10k he is, as always, unbeatable.
He has never lost a 10k and he just won the 5k even after letting it become a 200m kick race vs a world class miler. Even if he declines from here he is like Paula, Geb and Tergat, he has enough of a buffer that he can keep winning well off of his peak.
You, Chet, are a rare breed of idiot.
This is how you operate in life and hold on to some semblance of power, as much an illusion as that power may be. You were wrong this year in predicting that Bekele would fail to impress and come up short of the win in the 5k. Instead of admitting to being wrong, you simply make the same prediction for next year which will ALSO be wrong.
The thing is, you won't stop there, you're too "smart" for that. You'll keep on predicting the SAME outcome, over and over, for years to come until Bekele is actually too old to perform on the world stage and does, in fact, lose. Then you won't shut the hell up about how right you were, completely forgetting the fact that you've been wrong about the same topic for years and years prior.
You know what? Just shut up now because nobody want's to hear it. You're a rare breed of idiot and a mediocre attempt at a troll, spouting your grand predictions until they are ultimately proven wrong, only to have you start up again for the NEXT year like you know something no one else does.
"Let's all listen to Chet with his insiders' knowledge! He's so cool and not a complete knob at all!"
Do you really think that's what people say about you? You're sickening and pathetic.
Do you know what the definition of insanity is? Completing a series of actions over and over the same way and expecting a different outcome.
Get some help and help yourself by staying off a stage where people actually have to listen to you and pick you apart, time after time, only to strengthen your misguided resolve. The first step is admitting you have a problem.
And boy, do you have a problem.
I'm just having a bit of fun, ole boy, and you on the other hand, sound as if you are going to have a heart attack. Running is just a game.

Truth hurts doesn't it?
What truth? Please elucidate this truth and I will reply in a manner as to eviscerate the inexorable display of nonsense which your pedestrian mind will, as is its penchant, concoct in an attempt to manifest ratiocination, but it will labor from the effort and show itself to be mediocre.
This "chet" is a REAL troll. The dangerous kind. The troll who thinks he's intelligent. I argued with him once about a week ago until I realized his answers reminded me of Rush Limbaugh's radio show. I smiled, washed my hands and vowed never to throw another intelligent argument his way.
In other words, you gave up in obsequious submission. Well done.
Well put squirrel teacher. Apparently learning to navigate a thesaurus makes you an intelligent poster and improves your arguing position. I said my piece and everyone who has followed your posts, Chet, will agree with the assessment I put forward. Seriously, get help.
Who needs a thesaurus when you're intellectually brilliant? I am so sorry for your barren mental landscape, but it is like engaging a third grader. Disparity in intellect invariably triggers envy and frustration. So sad.
You're right. I AM frustrated that you're such an asshat.
Bolt obviously is the mvp of the meet, BK second and LaSHAWN 3RD , think these were also my picks for the Olympics, Tyson Gay gets 2nd best US dude , too bad he did not get to run 200 and relay.
Everyone gets old, but who do you think will beat him in the 10k?
Chet is obviously smarter than you guys. But I don't know why he's wasting his time here.

Ah, you are intellectually brilliant! No wonder you're predictions are always wrong and you refuse to admit it. Here I thought that was called ignorance.
Good luck to you in that bubble of absolute obliviousness you wear so well and I really hope you suffocate under its weight. You can only remain so blissfully unaware of you're condition for a time before you wake up cold and alone after destroying every major connection in your life through your inability to cope with any question of your own mental "prowess" which every other person pronounces "illness."
Get help now. Get off the internet and into rehab.

persistent troll.
I don't think Bekele will ever lose a big track race. However, he may choose to withdraw from the track scene sometime soon. I can see him being a lot like Michael Jordan:
-He is the best
-Even when his health/fitness is below par, he can still be the best, just because he has a natural tendency to be the best no matter what
-For him the appeal of his sport is doing it in a way that is best in the world. When he becomes unable to be the best, the sport will lose its appeal. Hence he would decide to quit.
His future on the roads is uncertain just because of that initial bad experience with that Netherlands 15k. Who knows, his biomechanics may not lend themselves to road racing.
i agree with the above poster. the guy has become unreal in competition since his fiance died a few years back. he missed a bunch of training and still doubled at world cross. he then set the 10k WR later that summer. there is no up and comer on the scene now who can touch him. that can easily change in the next 2-3 years but i cant see someone coming out of the woodwork that quickly and being able to challenge him immediately. i think he will become the first athlete to win the same running event in three straight Olympics. edwin moses probably would have accomplished it first if not for the 1980 boycott.

You sound awfully sure of yourself. I will bet any amount of money at any odds that Bekele will NOT win Worlds next year.
