Symmonds ran great. Finally didn't hang in the back. Unfortunately he didn't have it with 100 to go, but he was in position and finished as well as he realistically could have hoped for.
Mulaudzi, Yego, (back from sxth place) kamel, with hundredths
Nice Run by Symonds, too bad lost steam in teh last 50m
Have to hand it to Nick - He held his position, GREAT tactical race, just didn't have the wheels at the end - could tell he was gassed...
What a race. Symmonds threw about 8 elbows, could've been a candidate for DQ also. Mulaudzi looked like a sitting duck the whole last lap but clung on, very gutsy run. Borza never in it- Symmonds knocked him away when he tried to move up at the bell but didn't feature again. Yego came home like a train but couldn't get there. Laalou ran into a brick wall twice in the last 200 which may've cost him the win (with the form he brought in he will be disappointed with his world champs output).
One of the better 800s I've ever seen. Great night of racing so far.
Great run by Symmons.
Proud of him even though he didn't win
Brilliant run

I concur.
Nicky has exceeded my expectations of him. He is fast and has a great fighting spirit. He'll do better perhaps in the Olympics.

Actually, Borza finished even faster than Yego, but from too far back. He dropped back on the backstretch, should have held his position.
maybe if Symonds he elbowed a little less he might have run a little faster.
Still, good performance.
i thought this was a fantastic race and liked the way symmonds raced. but, this was a drastic change from tactics he's used time in and time out. to just start a new way of racing in a WC is not good, i think he would have done better coming from a little further back in the homestretch and not expended so much energy staying at the front for the first 600m.
he's going from running from 30m back to being a front runner. i think he needs something in between.
fantastic day of racing!!!
He just didnt have the kick that we've seen from him before, the question is was that because he was tired from running through the rounds or if he should have laid off the pace a little bit more. However the race was a great building block, just keep improving eventually you'll have gold.
