Totally a petty and crappy move, protesting the US in the men's 4x100 heats. What the hell? They had second place in the heat so they were going anyways to the next round. It wasn't a factor for them except to eliminate a vastly superior team from the finals.
But I guess when you have to scrape to just get three medals, you'd prefer to avoid the competition then face it? Welcome to British Athletics.
I was hoping Japan would catch them in the 4x100 finals as they ran for a very distant third. But I guess it proves that it pays to be a douche once in a while.
[Maybe it was payback for an equally dorky move made by the USA in Bejing for lane violations that didn't change the outcome of the race...but I was ashamed of us then and as I am of the Brits now...]
