I think she is in 14:5x shape and has an amazing finishing kick. She might have been able to medal in this race.

She had a great kick going 15:01 indoor in Seattle last winter. It's a shame she has her set on the steeple instead of the more prestigeous 1500 and 5000.
Yes she got impressive speed at the end. And on a day like this w/o Tirunesh Dibaba in the race I'd say gold medal.
I'm a fan of Jenny B. but if she couldn't medal in the 3000m Steeple then how in the heck could she have won the 5K?
Enlighten me with your track wisdom!
"She might have been able to medal in this race."
I have agree that Jenny B should dump the Steeple.
I think the fact that you all think she could have medaled in the 1500 or 5000, yet failed to do so in the 3000SC tells us that the 3000SC is now just as legit as any other race.
It's not...

There is a huge difference between being in 14:5x shape and running 14:5x at a championship race.

No there isn't, other athletes don't make you less fit for a race.
but there's a difference between running even splits to a 14:5X, and having to go out slow and kick like crazy.
There is a huge difference in running 14:5x at an even, consistent pace, and running 14:5x when the tempo is very uneven (extremely slow early, then a couple of quicker laps thrown in at mid-race, then returning again to a much softer tempo, and finishing with a rapid 600-800 meters). The American women have not yet shown the ability to race well when there are these extreme tempo changes, and the Ethiopians and Kenyans seem to have mastered it. Same thing happened in today's W's marathon; Goucher was in it when pace was slow and even. When the Russian took the lead and stepped up the tempo, Goucher was dropped and never could regain contact with the leaders.
