I don't think so. It was more like with Jepkoskei and Semenya, i.e. the Dutch hit Kaki's foot slightly.
totally agree with floto. boldon with all do respect has no middle distance experience. There's no way Kaky would trip on himself like that unless Som's hip or quad touched Kaky's foot
he tripped himself - no doubt in my mind. It was a nasty fall, but shit happens.

lol, guys just don't trip without any help. he was definitely clipped from behind.
The German guy fell in the same manner yesterday. His lower leg was pushed a little and he fell.
it looked pretty obvious to me that he got clipped from behind. How the hell does someone of that caliber trip himself while running? That's just a stupid statement. only fatties and uncoordinated goons trip themselves while running on america's funiest videos. kaki was clipped.
He was definitely clipped from behind. If you watch it in slow mo you can see where it happens.
Nope. Kaki's right foot kicked his left's calf causing him to loose balance. It was his own fault but a big shock considering he did not make finals in Beijing last year.

I hate the grammar nazis, but I hate when people say "loose" when they should have said "lose" more.
Wait so has Kaki tripped himself in TWO races this season? Does he just have awful form or something???
I hope he's in the final.
If he were a huge headed, probably doped, female American middlee distance runner, he'd have no probs.
That's pretty funny.
I just checked the start list and the two guys that fell down behind him are in and he's not.
They decided he must have tripped over his own feet.
That was a rough fall! Look at his ripped spike!
I just watched the video over and over on Universal Sports and he was definately tripped from behind by the Dutch runner. He should be added to the final because he was tripped.
tough for him.
Kaki tripped up slightly on himself and lost his balance for a moment, which would normally not be a big deal. However, at that pace, he slowed slightly and Som wasn't able to react and bumped the slowing Kaki. Kaki then hit the ground, and Som fell over him. Unfortunate and nobody's fault.

Have you ever seen the film Foot Loose! Now don't lose the plot here, the guy behind has clipped his leg forcing one of his legs to clip the other
He took the guy out who did it in his fall though!

I've watched the replay over and over. Slow it down and watch. Kaki's own foot catches the inside of his other leg. He shouldn't have slowed down like he did. He goofed! All Som did was run into Kaki once Kaki tripped. Bad luck but no one's fault but Kaki's. Damn.
Very quick thinking by Symmonds. Reminded me of Cram taking off during the Euro Champs 1500 in '82 when there was some pushing and Graham Williamson went down. Cram just went to the front, took off and held on.

he didn't' finish the race - Steve Cram kept saying that he should try to finish as that way he has a better chance of being reinstated.
