The Russian leader just popped into porta potty and peed or poo'd in 15 seconds and got back into the race.
The announcers called it a "comfort break" lol...as opposed to a potty break.

plenty of marathoners do that. squat and drop. in a race >2hrs, the time u lose being uncomfortable is much more than if you just let 'er rip and proceed.
as long as she didn't "run" to the shitter
maybe the walk should have a designated reststop/nap,to be fair to everyone.
Maybe Gallowalkers do. To say "plenty" of marathoners do it (implying in a world or Olympic Championship or a world class race) is just wrong.
Walking is like seeing who can whisper the loudest.
I agree with the whispering analogy.
I don't like to disparage anyone's sport; to each his own. But I just happened to log onto Universal Sport's broadcast this AM, and it was showing slow motion footage of the race walker's, and it was clear that both feet are off the ground at the same time.
Most sprinters think distance runners are frootloops and worse. So it all evens out I guess.

Well, I ran a 2:26 with a port-o-john dump-break just last year. I know 2:26 is slow for LetsRun standards, but I would hope it doesn't classify as Gallowalking.
A few yearsa go Eamonn Martin won the race now named the Bank of America) Chicago Marathon in 2:10 after such a break roughly at halfway. He told the media afterward that taking the 45 seconds out was absolutely worth it.

If you ignore Paula Radcliffe stopping to drop a load in a major marathon, then yes, you might be right (they'll often just go in their shorts as Steve Spence did in 1991 and Uta Pippig did in 1996).
No. Race walking should NOT be Required. This is, quite possible, the stupidest question I have ever seen on letsrun. Why in the world would you ask if race walking should be required? Required for what you idiot??
I thought Uta Pippig was having female problems.
Anyway, if you're going to have race walking you might as well have skipping races, three-legged races, and sack races.
Female problems can lead to simultaneous digestive upset. One of those times of the month issues when a nice vomit has nothing to do with eating disorders and can actually settle the stomach a bit.
