In Trinidad (where is family is all from) at the Pan Am juniors. He now has brokern Skeets AJR and Lu Xiang's WJR.
13.08 - not at all shabby.
Best performance this year by any American junior.

I was going to say "not so fast" and throw German's 5k American Junior Record up for consideration, but a quick look at the 2008 IAAF scoring tables supports your contention:
110H 13.08 ==> 1237 points
5000 13:26.46 ==> 1119 points
In order to have an "equivalent" performance German would of had to run 12:52.7!
Note that a 13.08 in the 110H is the equivalent of a 9.94 in the 100m, so this also eclipses Demps' 100m from the Olympic trials last summer that I thought was one of the most amazing American junior performances ever.
Congratulations Wayne Davis!
^^^ should be 13:25.46 ^^^

He ran over 39 inch hurdles. Liu Xiang still has the WJR because he ran over 42 inch hurdles.
No need to get nasty. Read the original post, which suggests that Davis' performance is the best by a junior this year. That's what German Fernandez has to do with the discussion.

lol its over lower hurdles bud...you're stupidity got the better of you. Perhaps the reason you're overzealous to the point of stupidity is quite clear.
wth does German who? have to do with this performance.
99 hurdle height,
not 1.067 hurdle height
Anyway you look at it, it was an awesome performance. Take note that the top two finishers in the 110mH race are from the same area and have the SAME CLUB COACH (Steve McGill), even though Booker Nunley now goes to USC. Also take note that USC sophomore, Johnny Dutch (World Championships 400mH) was also coached by McGill. My question is why isn't someone like this offered something more substantial by USATF? He obviously knows more than any other coach out there!

Why isn't Trevor Graham still around being paids lots? All his people ran really fast, he cleary knows more than any other coach out there.
That's crazy. That's equal to 11.89 sec for 100m. That's an elite time for a high school girl with no hurdles and he jumped over 10 39" hurdles. Amazing!
Lets look at this realistically
1) He isnt faster then the world or American Jr records for 42 inch hurdles. Great run but not superior to the records over 42 inch hurdles.
2) There has been reference to what he, Dutch and Nunley have done with thier HS club coach. Have any of the above mentioned athletes run as fast in college as they did in HS? There is a big difference between 39 and 42. In the case of WD and JD, they are smaller guys and the 42's will alwasy present a challenge for them. Nunley on the other hand has a better chance of success at the 42 inch height because of his height (6'2)
All that being said, it was a great run by a great athlete, lets see where he goes from here.
dude, johnny dutch is going to world championships this summer, which you won't be doing. i'd consider #2 in the usa, by .1, as pretty good

I don't know how to explain that differently. You divide 13.08 by 1.1 and get 11.89.
Dude
The topic is the 110 hurdles and his improvement in that event from the 39's to the 42's. Johnny hs shown Great improvement in the 400h's, no one can argue that. My comments were about the 110's - Dude.
So back off a bit will you and stay on topic. Let me take a wild guess that you are a member of the club team and a friend of JD. Also let me take a guess that you will not be going to Berlin either.

It's #1 for 39in Hurdles, but we'll see how this translates to the 42 inch hurdles in collegiate competition.

It's a very odd way to conceptualize how good the performance is.
I'm sure Davis really gives a shit that he can beat a HS girl 100M runner
Steve McGill is probably the greatest junior hurdle coach out there right now. He may be as good as ronaldo nehemiah's youth coach. he coached Johnny Dutch, Wayne Davis, and Booker Nunley since they were young. he is a huge reason as to why they are so good now. to see how dedicated he is to furthering peoples knowledge of the hurdles, check out his website: www.hurdlesfirst.com
