Humbled -- I'm jealous of your summers, but I'm guessing the winters make up for it!
RLAG -- I'll be interested to read your post-mortem. And again, I don't think this training cycle was wasted at all, even if the end result wasn't what you wanted. You've made some forward progress, and you can build on that this summer.
As for me, about 83 miles this week -- looked like this:
Monday: 7 miles very easy outside (8:33 pace) plus weight training.
Tuesday: 11 miles very easy on treadmill (9:02 pace), plus yoga class (7 miles before, 4 miles after).
Wednesday: In the morning, 15.5 miles outside, including 6 long hill repeats (.32 miles, 5% slope), with 5 minute jogging recovery between each repeat. Paces for the repeats were 7:05, 6:50, 6:53, 6:40, 6:40, 6:40.
In the evening, 2.75 very easy miles outside (8:36 pace)
Thursday: 7 miles outside at easy pace (8:36), plus weight training.
Friday: 11 miles very easy on the treadmill (9:04 pace), plus yoga.
Saturday: 12 miles easy outside (8:33 pace), plus 10 sprints of 12 seconds each up hill with 17% slope.
Sunday: 16 miles total. In the morning, 13 miles outside, including tempo run of 4 miles at 6:52 pace, plus six hard intervals of .25 miles each (times were 1:30, 1:28, 1:31, 1:28, 1:28, and 1:27) with jogging recovery of ~2:15 between each. Later tonight, I’ll do 3 easy miles outside as a shake-out.
I have a business trip this coming week, so it'll be a cut-back week for me.
