UMass hasn't posted anything about the upcoming XC season yet (then again, the media department always seems to post their items at last minute).
I know they are losing two seniors for the men (Nils Fischer and Jesse Regnier) and women (Beth Harlow and Taryn Trapp) for graduation. But no word on who is coming back or who has been recruited. More than likely, the new recruits are either from MA or NY.
From Dyestat.com, the mid-distance and distance recruits only:
Charlotte:
Bradley, Alyssa (Charlotte, NC)
Roberson, Ross (Indianapolis, IN)
Ruiz, Maria (Williamstown, NJ)
Stiefvater, Danny (Stephens City, VA)
Willingham, Sarah (Hendersonville, NC)
Fordham:
Moore, Bernard (Mineola, NY)
La Salle:
Bartholmew, Wayne (Gaithersburg, MD)
Beveridge, Joe (Harrisburg, PA)
Campbell, Zachary (Nashua, NH)
McGlinchey, Meghan (West Deptford, NJ)
Reilly, Paul (Dresher, PA)
Santana, Alfredo (Philadelphia, PA)
Topita, Ryan (Severn, MD)
Zachary Sullivan (Severn, MD)
Massachusetts - Amherst:
Doyle, Joe (Stow, MA)
Richmond:
Guglielmo, Dana (Basking Ridge, NJ)
St Josephs:
Walker, Sara (Wilmington, DE)
Xavier:
Cardosi, Calesse (Indianapolis, IN)
Clark, Rachel (Cincinnati, OH)
Coniglio, Matt (Chattanooga, TN)
Geer, Hank (Cincinnati, OH)
Price, Kaitlin (Cincinnati, OH)
Schulte, Kristen (Versailles, OH)
Bigger question is why in the hell is the championship race in St. Louis? They should just keep this race alternating between Schenly Park in Pittsburgh and Belmont Plateau in Phila.
You can ask the same question as to why Charlotte hosted the XC Championships this past year. I think the conference head-hanchos are trying to let other schools within the conference have a chance to host if they can meet the requirements.
URI has always hosted the indoor track and field championships the last few years because it's the only school that has an indoor track. Fordham shares the Armory with many other NYC schools that it's hard enough to schedule a 2-day meet.
Charlotte probably has the best outdoor track facility, but they let UMass host it in 2008 because they opened up a new track facility. While the track is nice, UMass doesn't have the seating capacity that Charlotte has (probably due to Charlotte being able to get more money because of their lack of football?)
LaSalle has two freshmen coming in who just ran a 9:09 and a 9:12 in the NJ state championships.
Look for Charlotte men to be in the top 2 this year

Nice list. Should definitely leave off a national xc qualifier and a returning all conference runner.

What national xc qualifier was left off?
Is that a new list of seeds or copy and paste from last year...some of those guys are coming off years where they dont seem to deserve their ranks. Also, who are the wildcards(Freshman, or returning Redshirters) who will be making an impact on the top teams.
Massachusetts loses Fischer/Regnier
add Dan Barry/Jeff Hill/Jason ayr (transfer from UBuffalo)
significant improver: Sonny Gamble 9:12 steepler
What will be the course @ Xavier?? On Campus?
The only races listed prior, hosted by Xavier in recent history, have been 5k's
Will they host am invite to test the 8k layout? Or will the A10's be the first time? eeek

FYI: A-10s will be in St. Louis (hosted by SLU), not Cincinnati (XU), on 10/31/09.

Nice picts. It would be cool if they had an aerial map (like google map) of the course so we can see how the men's and women's races differ.
