I am doing base work for a marathon and am having trouble deciding between the Pfitzinger Advanced Marathoning and Jack Daniels Running Formula (elite) training plans.
My 5k, 10k and 10 mile PR's indicate that I should be able to run right around 2:20 to 2:22 for the marathon distance. I am comfortable running very high mileage up to 140 a week.
The Pfitzinger plan has the common type marathon workouts ie; the last 10 miles of the long run at MP, etc.
The Daniels elite plan looks like it has some ball buster workouts - long runs with 16 miles at MP with two miles at a faster pace.
I'm leaning towards Daniels right now because it looks a little more difficult.
Anyone have experience running a fast marathon on either of these programs? Thoughts?
