ricky flynn will do big things. look at his whole 08-09 versus 07-08. 4 time AA this year. very fast 10k and 5k's, 14th in cross. competing at big meets like penn, BU, duke etc. full year of eligibility left. he will tear it up
Look for Cheyney to do big things as a team... I feel its their year.
Look for Smith to do big things, he looks strong. Should tear it up!
Ok but seriously, no one will touch Kosgei individually, and at this point judging by returners from nationals it looks like North Central and Cortland will be dueling it out teamwise, though it's always impossible to predict what teams will do from this far out anyway.
I have a feeling that Kosgei's reign will end soon. He was challenged in both Steeple and 5k, not winning by that much. He is starting to show his vulnerabilities.
Kosgei jogged the last 500 of the steeple, and probably the only reason it was close in the 5k is because he ran the last 3000 meters with out a shoe on.

Ummmm, he won both didn'd he? Who gives a f*** what the margin was?
Clearly you don't. I just think the poster was saying that the margin by which he is winning is getting smaller.
Allegheny has no excuse to not be top 3
Tony Dipre: Returning AA, 4:09 mile
Jeramie Parker: 3:50 1500
Chris Marker: 14:27, 5k AA
Zac Ross: 14:58?
Ryan Hanson: 14:40i
Jakeb Zimmerman: 14:xx??
That is six guys that should all be under 25 minutes on a reasonable course. Several could be under 24:30.

Top 3? are you crazy? Those times suck
As long as NC doesn't win I'll be happy.
Kosgei is a stud muffin he should be the favorite hands down, but it would be foolish to try and lead the whole race.
UW La Crosse should podium for sure and will probably be in contention for the win if Paul Moran comes back. With Moran, Connor Lonning, Dallas Vincent, and Zach Wilhelmy they'd have a top 4 better than anyone else's, and they have plenty of guys that can step up and be #5. I say third or fourth without Moran, first with him.
Looking at the top 5-10 teams, they all have very talented runners.. would you say that they were good coming out of their high schools, or are they mostly 1640-1720 kids who have been developed? Just wondering..
I'm not a man for bragging but no one will touch bird man this fall....
Definitely more talented than that, I would say anywhere from mid 15 to 16 for the 5k and 9:30-9:50 range for 3200. Of course you have those who run faster and slower than that, but it's a pretty good average.
They'll have a great top 4 but I wouldn't say that their top 4 would be better than NC's. Will be a good race between these two teams.

are you high? Dipre was 3rd on the indoor list for the mile, Marker was 7th on the 5k list, Parker just finished 7th at nationals, and Hanson was provo in the indoor 5K. what exactly do you consider to be a "good" Division 3 track time?
if these guys stay healthy and train smart, they have no excuse not to repeat or exceed their 2006 performance.
On the women's side, it looks like both Borner and Mitchell will be back for cross, should be another good dual between those two.
