Did they really suspend someone who hasn't run all year...
And how about all the coaches refusing to talk about it? Real mature, if true.
i love it!
AJ will never be the same. He will not recover from this.
Just like Tillman, Dunn, Kiers and Kochman never recovered when I kicked them off the Georgetown team in the spring of 1998.
This is kind of strange. I wonder how Luke avoided s similar fate?
How the HELL did PUKEsdra get 20 stitches?
viable transfer?

Coz he's actually running this year. You think they'd have suspended Rupp if it was all his fault? Doubt it.

Dunn recovered, but I think that had to do more with a haircut then anything else. Much more aerodynamic when he realized he had to get a job and couldn't look like sideshow Bob.
Kiers...well, he was done when he got blown over by the wind that one time at George Mason.
Tilly? Didn't he become Big East Champ the next year? I'd call that a success.
Kochman was never any good to begin with, so there was nothing to recover too.
Transfer? No way, just a temporary susp. Too much Oregon pride involved.
Georgie the K was suspended by Coach Gags???? The dude is in Med School and is one of the most respected posters on Dyestat.
Tillman was big east champ earlier in that year. i think he never broke 2:00 after that. then at bucknell after winning the open 800 he had a heart attack during the relay and finished in 2:09.

That's not saying very much.
Dude is not in med school, dude is a doctor.
'most respected poster on dyestat'. his father would be proud.
i admit his love of HS track is not easily rivaled.
Dear AJ,
this is your chance. Transfer and get out of the U or Galen Rupp. Come on man take off and be a man!
where did it say anything about 20 stitches?
"I was surprised," Acosta said. "But they had to suspend someone."
That quote says it all. The public nature of Puks getting taken to the hospital meant that someone had to take the fall as the Uni/public were definitely calling for some repercussion. So they suspended the guy that has no possibility of running, probably the entire team was at the party where Luke got smashed. There will be no transfer, AJ is smart enough to know that without a stress fracture he would be cool, they would have suspended whoever else was injured.

I agree 100%, but AJ grow some balls and be your own runner/ man
What I like is he is suspended "indefinitely" and yet he comments on it when asked "they had to suspend someone" and other comments. Bad move.
I would be afraid at this point, that this would affect my running career and would have said "I have no comment".
If he is a junior, I would want to be able to join the team again in the Fall and if he shut his mouth, maybe that would happen.
If he isn't allowed back on the team, he can transfer, but he may have to sit out.
As far as the coaches not commenting, that is what is expected. Did it ever occur to you he did something illegal? Like providing the alcohol? The coaches are looking out for AJ and doing the right thing by not commenting. Do you think that they should make his behavior public information just because you want to be able to criticize their decision?
Wow this story sounds oddly like Kochman's. He received several stitches after getting in a fight with a palm tree in Gainsville.
