I noticed this myself, went from 9.5 to 10.5 and asked my wife if she thought my feet looked bigger---she said at least something looks bigger luv!! no kidding--

Interesting. Maybe the connective tissues of the foot just "relax" a bit, causing there to be a bit more space between joints? I've heard of middle-aged shoe crises before, but thought it was always due to collapsing arches.
I bumped up all my shoe sizes at age 37. I still have an extremely high arch.
