I went to see the vet today for a respiratory infection and he gives me Levaquin. 5 750mg pills (1/day for 5 days).
I get home and read the safety info and find this: Fluoroquinolones, including LEVAQUIN™, are associated with an increased risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture in all ages. This risk is further increased in older patients usually over 60 years of age,
I discussed my marathon training with him so I was surprised and disappointed to see that. I'll add that I'm 49 and have had Achilles Tendon issues.
Anyone have any experience with Levaquin? Is this risk as bad as it sounds?
TIA
