The officials told me it was because the cap didn't match her uniform, as in it wasn't a USC cap. It sounds to me like they imposed the California high school rules on her. |

I asked Zsofia why she didn't wear her hat during her 10k race and she told me that the official said it wasn't part of the uniform. She also said that the USC hat was issued to her by her coach at the beginning of the school year. It seems to me that she has a good case. I think the over-officous jerk that made her take off her hat should apologize to her. |
