Whats the name of the treadmill? I need one that will knock out sub 5 min miles!
Geb "runs" on a treadmil 5 or 6 times a week ? !!!
Guess we'' ll have to add him to the list of "not real" runners.
Now where can we get those singlets? It seems like sleeveles tees are the rage now. But I find them a lotless "breathable".
Thanks for the link. It was great.
Impressive!
It is interesting to see him on a treadmill.
Thanks.
I saw another vid of this somewhere that showed the name of the treadmill...I think it's a woodway or something.
sweet...love the video, thanks.
that treadmill is amazing. my friend has one and they are great for tempo runs, its so smooth as hell and super fast. the downside is it costs over $10,000....
Geb can't run 4 min. pace on the treadmill. He lost in a half marathon a couple of weeks ago.
Geb is slow...... wrote:

This is why this site is so awesome.

I tend to judge the quality of a hotel by the top speed of the treadmills in its fitness center. A couple of weeks ago, I stayed at a place with treadmills that went up to 16 miles per hour. (Curiously, their dumbbells topped out at something like 25 pounds.)
I'm guessing that Geb's frequent treadmill sessions suggest that he's going after Mike Wardian's world record in the treadmill marathon. Who thinks he can do it? Keep in mind that he can't use pacers.
He could probably do that and run the last mile in under 4 minutes.
Whose to say he hasn't done it already?
I live in L.A. and heard or saw nothing on Geb being in town. I would have gone out to see him.
He doesn't need pacers, since the treadmill already ensures that he is running at the correct pace. Duh.
nothing on it here. wrote:

If you would have read the article you could see it was only open to a select few people.
That was the joke...

Did no one realize the very flawed scientific experiment???
Adidas was showing their new singlet kept the runner cooler than a cotton tshirt. Now this isn't hard to believe. But they go about proving it this way:
Compare to a BLACK tshirt (singlet neon yellow)
Compare it to a sleeved shirt -- singlet has no sleeves
Who the heck are the testing people at Adidas, and do they know nothing???
Their aim is to sell, not to conduct an accurate experiment.
yeah the whole thing was a pretty poorly conceived advertisement. Having Geb dicking around on the treadmill was cool though. Somewhere Nate Jenkins had to have been shedding a tear watching geb fooling around at 4 minute pace at 100% body weight.

It is a Woodway treadmill. Very sweet, it is made of horizontal slates of wood covered in a rubber similar to a nice track. Much nicer and quieter to run on compared to the coventional belt. I would imagine you could even run in spikes on it if you wanted to. The one I tried went to 15mph.
Great video. If anyone hasn't seen the movie 'Endurance' you would enjoy that as well. Geb running sub5min miles on a dirt road in Africa.
