It's hard to peak in February when you were injured in November. 4 months? With a little down time in there for recovery, I'm guessing that he is far from peaking.

He's says he was injured, some feel he was pulling a Kip Keino and faking an ailment because he was falling apart.

Does being a neanderthal get you a break in car insurance or easier admittance to law school?

Fernandez is putting up the times. Can he help get more interest in running in this country? He's latino so the media will kiss his ass. Maybe the sport will finally get a bit more air-time.

I'd say he's living up to the hype.

I watched the video of German's 3:56.5 and he looked incredibly smooth. I think he can hit the low 3:50's outdoors with no problem and 13:10 or a little faster over 5k this year. I know the 5k time seems a bit of a high target, but this guy wasn't over-trained in HS like a lot of other prep stars.

is a 3:55.02 FAT superior? i would think so. i think they used to add .14 to hand timed races over 400m; does this apply?

Even though his time in intrinsically superior they won't give him the record. Reminds me of Steve Scott running 3:51.11 in '79 to miss Ryun's national record (behind Coe's 3:48.95) and Scott being listed behind Ryun's hand-timed 3:51.1 on the all-time list.

i'll say it now and say it again.....f*** if he's PEAKED right now..this shit is still fun to watch, RIGHT NOW.
