Hi all,
My track workouts have been extremely slow for me so far this season - and it's a very strange feeling. I'm aware when I'm running that it's too slow (it feels slow) and I want to go faster. For whatever reason, my legs simply will not move any faster though. Nothing in particular hurts. It feels like a complete body shut down. Legs unresponsive and breathing heavy. It's not completely a cardio problem though... my base runs feel difficult but I can still keep up with my team on those. Also, I think if it were just a cardio issue, I'd be able to push through it. I know I'm not reaching the total exhaustion that I could be reaching because my body simply will not go. If I take a rep off and take a bit longer rest, the next rep is better, but then it immediately gets worse again.
I had been anemic last season, but I was taking iron for that. I just got rechecked and now my iron is a bit too high, so they told me to stop taking the pills.
I'm also fatigued after workouts and simply fall asleep when I shouldn't. I'm having some body temperature regulation issues, and I went through a phase where my resting heart rate was higher than usual. I also had a fever a week ago and a migraine yesterday (probably not relevant).
What's the deal? Am I just out of shape or is something else going on? Anyone know the feeling I'm describing? Thanks.
