Good luck with that. Any lead that anyone might have on this board would be considered top secret intel. Most would never in a million years give you a heads up. With everybody being the next great coach with THE PLAN to develop all 10:00 2 milers into All-Americans and all...can you blame them?
Western Illinois may have an opening
Apply for the DII Permian Basin position in Odessa.
I don't believe Belmont Abbey ever hired anyone.
They have their man...Should be announced soon...
If they did, I hope it wasn't that high school loser that applied. That would be a very very bad thing for the Abbey's.
Isn't this kind of an early thread to be starting??? But let the games begin....
Just heard that because of budgeting issues universities are going to start cutting coaches....my guess is they will start with track, no one dare cut the 73 coaches football has.
The entire staff at Colorado.
Wetmore will never get fired
I am leaving Otterbein after next year. You can replace me if you want.
What are you younger coaches, who couldn't find a coaching job after being a grad assistant, doing? Working odd jobs?
Does anyone know what's up with the Georgia opening on the NCAA site? It looks like the position could be any event area, who has left?

Hey man, it's just part deux of living the dream. There you are, with two degrees, one advanced, and you're bagging groceries at the local Food Mart, sleeping on a buddies couch and you just know one day, you're gonna be the next Dave Smith. It's all worth it, so worth it.
I think few of you understand how many coaches are going to be out of a job because schools are going to start cutting positions. The budget shortfalls in the next 2 years will challenge the survival of track & field as we know it.
Concordia (Ca) is looking for a new head XC and Track coach. The coach just got the BOOT.
Central Michigan has already announced retirement, but not sure they've started replacement process.
In the Big 10, Wayne Angel at Illinois and Karen Dennis at Ohio State would be the best guesses for head coach openings. Angel in particular has been there almost 5 years and finishing at bottom at home last outdoors didn't help him.
I don't believe Kent State coach is in trouble. They've been competing for the MAC crown (only 5 teams on the mens side however), and they just put in a very nice indoor track.
One poster said they bag groceries with their master's degrees. What jobs have some of you other coaches landed with you rmaster's if you didn't get a coaching gig? It's going to be a hard to get a job this year.

I certainly hope YOU don't have a master's degree. That is most certainly NOT what I said... Please try again.
Leon Johnson the coach at NW State (LA) is or almost 70 yerars old. Perhaps ready to retire this year or next? Leon has been coaching at NW State since 1983. His son Dean Johnson is going to get the job.

Don't you mean the University of Illinois? Also perhaps
Kent State & NW State (La)?
