Looks like Kara Goucher won twice
The mile went out VERY slow (68, 2:15), then the race got interesting.
The 800 and Mile finish are uploading now... more to come.
"Rupps Kick for the Win" - What event? Too lazy to look through the results to find out which event he won.
151 indoors is not too shabby for a distance guy.
Maybe all of that T3 muscle fiber conversion is paying off?

I'd say 1:51 indoors (in January no less) for a 10k guy is better than 'not too shabby.' People might love to hate him, but this kid continues to impress every season...

Well i thikn the mile was like 20 or 30 minutes later. And it sounds like he kicked with a 1:55 last 800 to beast a 356.00 indoor miler, and 336 1500 last year. THe 800 was first....that's rather shocking actually even for Rupp. He's def ready to go sub 4.
The opening 400 in Rupp's mile was :68 followed by a :67. They were moving the second half. Rupp won at the tape. Kid has a knack for doing that.

Just got back from watching the UW Indoor where Goucher and Rupp ran well. Results at
http://gohuskies.cstv.com/sports/c-track/stats/2008-2009/09indoorpreviewresults.html
After enduring an interminable number of 200 heats followed by 300s, 600s, and 400s, we finally got to what I came for, the 800s and miles.
Nicole Blood was listed as running in the top heat of the 800 but showed up in the next to last one and led at 500m and won fairly handily in 2:14.10. The top heat had Jessica Smith holding on to beat Krishna Curry from UCLA in 2:10.93, Blood's time would have been 3rd.
In the men's 800 the top heat had a group from Oregon including Rupp, Withers, McGrath, and Chapa. It went out at a fair pace and Rupp was last (8th) at 200. He moved up to 5th then 4th but that was it as he finished in 1:51.33 behind McGrath (1:50.29), Primm (1:50.33), and Thornton (1:51.09). Rupp was doubling back in the mile 30 minutes later so perhaps this was just a warm up.
In the top section of the women's mile, we got to see Kara Goucher on the track along with Blood doubling back. After a slow 1000 or so, Goucher decided to move and gapped the field ultimately winning in 4:39.51 with Vaughn and Blood about 5 seconds back.
The men's mile had a good field with Rupp, Sherer, Wall, and Rohatinsky. The pace went out horribly slow the first 400 in about 70 and 800 showing up in about 2:15. Right about this point much like Goucher did, Sherer decided to move throwing in around a 54-55 second lap putting about 15 meters on the field where Rupp and Bailey were hanging on. But with 300 to go the gap started to shrink and Rupp came to the top of the stretch in reach and caught Sherer at the line in 4:10.13. Certainly not terribly impressive as a mile time, but Rupp's last 800 was around 1:54-1:55 which does look pretty good, especially after running a 1:51.x 800 30 minutes earlier.
I left at this point not seeing anyone interesting other than Yoder-Begley on the 3000m start lists but looking at the results, I see that Goucher doubled back and beat Yoder-Begley by 4.5 seconds in 9:03.47.
rupp could have a hell of a year, NCAA outdoor championship records maybe? If he gets in a fast mile at UW I don't think it will be a slim sub 4, but a smack down.
The women's mile just finished uploading and is processing now. http://www.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?do=videos&pg=1&event_id=10&video_id=8256&folder_id=-2&offset=0#video
the 1:51 is impressive. he can run on the 4 x 800 team with that time.
that is way, way more speed then i pegged rupp for. This is a different runner then the guy who finished last at millrose in 4:02ish.
Rupp ran 4:01.x in HS 4 years ago+, any guy who could run 4:01.x , could surely run 1:52.00 or better, look it up. I am surprised at all the hype on this,1:51.33 on a oversized track, is this that big a deal?
Rupp ran almost 4 minutes years ago.

This has to be King99....post from dyestat
"anyone who could run 4:01.x in HS could run either 8:40's or 1:52 or better you can almost look that up.
No biggie here as far as I am concerned."
What you didn't get the response you wanted there so you came on here hoping for the Rupp bashers to help you out? He didn't go all out in the 800 running 151, and hten came back 30 mins later and outkicked a 336/356 guy in a slow mile. All this in his first race/workout of a 10k runner indoors. And you honestly don't know why there is hype?
1)jogged a 151
2)had 30 min rest
3)outkicked a 336 guy off a 215 first half.
4)He's a 10k runner and this is his first race
5)Combine all the above and you have insane performance.
According to you Rupp has not gone all out in a single race or defeat , including HS, be serious.
1:51.33 is a PR by a ton, he was all out saying he was jogging does not lend any intelligence to your point.
You have said in every Rupp post you have EVER made, that Rupp could clearly run faster than the performance he pumped out, EVERY TIME.
You get the peformance you run, not some number you have in your head for him/
When he breaks 4:00, he will be a sub 4:00 miler, when he runs faster than 27:33 and 13:30 that is what he will be, not until, because you have this perverse notion that the sport works differently for Galen Rupp than EVERY other runner in history, because that is what you do time and time again, it is old and tiresome, as I am sure you think other rhetoric is as well.
Every single race Rupp runs, you want to make him something he is not, a faster by a ton guy.
You are what you are the sport is easy to calibrate, except for you who gives guys phantom PR's because you THINK you know how hard they tried or ran.
Think about how absurd it continues to sound.
Now come back with another witty retort.
He outkicked a guy that was this and that? Did you see the race, Sherer did not even know he was there , that is HOW in the race Rupp was, he simply surprised him late, he did not go elbow to elbow with him outkicking him, try to demonstrate a minimum of race observation in your posts.
And look at the video.

Haha, I didn't even see any posts from him on dyestat, but the first thing I thought of when I read the post here by "trialswatcher" was "wow, that's king99 isn't it?"
Completely his "style."
You would be right , if dealing in fact and not some fanstasy land bull shit "possible" performances is a "Style".
It is what it is, not something else, because one guy does it and someone else, MRR wants to have him capable of stuff he has never run, and not do the same for all others.
I thought this race was gonna end up bein a sh1tty sit and kick race after they started off running 430 pace for the first half of the race. But then Steve Sherer freakin TOOK off. He ran a 53 second 3rd quarter! He made the race and you could tell it took a toll on him...in that last 250m he had no spark in his legs, and Galen Rupp sure did. Props to sherer for making the race at least a little respectible, and props for rupp for a nice finish
