I've heard good things about Nebraska, and after seeing that Flotrack video on the Texas A&M track that looks like the best one out there. I'd say Harvard might be a tier below these other ones. Surface/facility is kind of old and it's in yards not meters. Isn't there a 300m facility down south at the University of Kentucky? Gotta be up there, right?
Texas A&M's new facility is incredible
ETSU - oversized tracks for the win
in fact, outdoor tracks should be 800 meters, not 400
scratch that, get rid of tracks all together, lets just run xc, anything short of 4.9 miles is too small
I just wanted to compliment your english and how jealous I am of your Division I education
Fresno State has a new and a very fast track
Reggie Lewis is not that good at all, very minimal bank is only decent for long distance races (1500+).
Harvard is pretty good - but it is nowhere near nebraska/texas A+M
BU is the fastest indoor track I've ever run on.
I've never been to most of the tracks mentioned in the top 10, but BU is my number 1, and the Armory is a bit nicer than Harvard.

Reggie Lewis is not a very fast track for the 800 down- agreed. It is obviously faster than all unbanked tracks, but substantially slower than BU or the Armory It is a great facility, though. Spectating there is tremendous. It does also lack an outer lanes to warm-up around etc. All things considered it might be up there in the top 10, though having not been to all of these places I can't say for sure.
What do poeple think about Air Force, Iowa St. or New Mexico??
Quackerville in Eugene has a proposed indoor in the planning. Finding a place to put it is a problem. Have seen the proposal and draft. Wow! Once again, Tracktown USA is light years ahead of the rest of the USA if the indoor track comes to be.
What's the track supposed to be like? Oversized? Banked?
Go watch the latest flotrack video on Texas A&M's facility. I can't imagine topping that place. Props for putting field events in the middle of the track and for deciding to simultaneously run 2 pole vault pits, long/triple pits, and 2 high jump pits in an effort to have full meets completed in under 2 hours. Eliminating all-day track meets will certainly make our sport more fan friendly and A&M's new facility is helping this cause.
I've run at BU, Iowa State, Nebraska, Reggie Lewis, and Harvard.
My fave is Nebraska for mid-sprints (my mid-sprint is the 800m).
ISU is a great facility. It has the 400m track 4 lanes on the level above the 300m competition surface. I always loved warm-up/cool-downs there because you could still catch a glimpse of the races below.
BU and Reggie are great for fast times. The Harvard track just doesn't seem to be in the same tier as those two other Boston tracks.
having run on each of these, here's my list
1. bu
2. psu
3. armory
4. yale
5. reggie lewis
Kent state has 300m of mondo. Fast track but the facility as a whole is not that great (unless they have changed it in the past 5 years).

Oh, the irony.
