Dana Hills over Buchanan HS 70 to 85.
Both teams went under the old state meet team time record. Dana Hills average was 15:31 for 5k on a pretty tough course! Tyler Vales of Dana Hills was also the individual champion.
This has to be one of the most exciting high school championship races in history. Congratulations Dana Hills!

Dana Hills just missed beating the 93 Mead HS team time. In case you're not familiar this team has been considered by many to be the best high school team in history.

As a native Washingtonian I am very glad to see Mead retain the fastest team title. I watched that 93 team at state as a Sophmore in HS and they were the real deal. With the Davis brothers up-front that team was awesome. I believe that 5 from that team went on to be the top 5 for UO in the late 90's.
I hope all of those at the meet in CA appreciate what they saw. You are not likely to see another team like that in your lifetime.

Great team, Greatest team ever? That article all but proves Saratoga's team was superior by a a decent amount, not the other way around. Saugus would have had to break their record by almost a minute to convince me.
how does the CA course compare to SAS (now Wakemed), because SAS has the ridiculous hill.....
Woodward park accurately rates about 2.5 depending on the day where kenosha is a 3 on a good day (on a 0-5 scale). It is a true cross country course with plenty of hills turns and surfaces.
SAS/Wake med hill is not steep or hard... times at SAS are faster than most other north carolina courses (with the exception of McAlpine)...
with the massive number of girls running under 18 minutes compared to SAS great american times... i would have to say the course should be easier than SAS
