Dammit. All but Kennedy. Funny because I was grouping them ideologically and couldn't figure out who I was missing. Should have been obvious.
Scalia, Kennedy, Roberts, Thomas, Alito(spelling?)... can't remember the rest. I know if I sat here for a minute I could come up with another one, but I don't feel like it. Was going to go with Ginsbug, but she up and retired on me.
Hmm... I guess Ginsberg is still sitting. Who was the lady that retired a couple of years back?
O'Connor
Shoot, I thought you meant *ever*. I was easily able to come up with nine, which seemed like a strange number--a little easier to understand, now.
i can name 10
Stephen Breyer
Ruth Ginsburg
Samuel Alito
John Roberts
Clarence Thomas
Antonin Scalia
Tony Kennedy
John Stevens
David Souter
Charles Evan Hughes
Earl Warren
Thurgood Marshall
Harry Blackmun
Byron White
Sandra Day O'Connor
John Jay
John Marshall
William Taft
Oliver Wendell Holmes
You missed John Stevens.
I hadn't thought about this..........
whoever said that elections have consequences had it right;
Justice Stevens and maybe Ruth Bader Ginsburg might retire before 2012 and with that, President Obama might make two nominations.
I'm in law school and I could only name 2, alarming.
But Judge Learned Hand, now that's a real judge's name.

I think you can count on *at least* two nominations between now and the end of 2012.
It could be as many as four, easily.

Plus, Souter is a complete weirdo and there are rumblings that he hates DC...and might retire as well. Maybe 3 appointments for the president-elect, then?
Actually, my favorite judge name is John Minor Wisdom (famous Fifth Circuit judge back in the mid-20th century).
John Marshall... Charles Evan Hughes...Warren
Burger... Mmmm, burger...
