I was so sick of people talking about how great the Angels were because they won 100 games. They won 100 games because their division absolutely bites ass. If they played in the AL East they would have been lucky to win 90.
Bye bye halos.

Terrific! Great Post!
Not that I have a dog in this fight, but check your stats again. The Angels had a better regular-season record this year against the AL East than against their own division including 8-1 against Boston and 7-3 against the Yankees.
Now the Cubs on the other hand........
The regular season just gets you into the playoffs. It doesn't guarantee how you do. The other Los Angeles team is the one with the bad regular season despite being in the worst division in baseball. But they just swept the NL team with the best record to get into the NLCS.
You all know the guy that can run great in workouts but sucks ass in races (ANGELS).
The Red Sox are the new Yankees. The team everyone loves to hate. Bloated pay roll. Annoying fans. They used to have a mystique. Now they're just a bunch of overpaid prima donas that don't know how to talk in plain English.
I find it funny that the team that choked in the post-season for 86 years think they know how to get it done.
I'll be glad when the Sawks are once again dumped from the playoffs, especially at the hands of the Rays.

It's just because they're trying to divert their attention away from how bad the Pats choked in the Super Bowl. That one really had to bite. 18 and....... 1 Ha!
That's right, the 2nd highest payroll in baseball, they should be winning. The yanks will buy their way back into it soon enough.
MLB is outa control, huge payrolls against poor teams with mini payrolls, like a top college football team playing a top HS football team, they should always win.
But, is it really satisfying, does it really mean Francona is a good coach? Or that they play better when it matters? Nope, just money.
Sawks should of swept the Angels if Big Pappy hadn't cut back on his steroids.
You dumbass, 1/2 the players in the majors are from Southern Califoria and Arizona, the other 1/2 from the ROW (rest of the world).

Check your stats again. Have you forgotten they play baseball in the south? States like Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas? Just to name a few. I doubt Arizona has more MLB players than any of those states.
Technically, 28% (239/855) of the opening day rosters for MLB teams were from outside the US.
The bulk of the MLB are from the southwestern U.S. that's for sure.

Other than California (which is a huge state), that's not true. Well, and Texas, if you count that as part of the southwest. But look at Florida and Georgia compared to Arizona.

Oh the ignorance... Whether or not you hate the Red Sox or their fans is your opinion. But the bloated payroll and overpaid prima donnas? The Sox were actually fourth in payroll this year (behind the Yankees, Tigers, and Mets) and only 10-13% ($12-15 million) ahead of the White Sox, Angels, Cubs, Dodgers, and Mariners. Looking at the postseason roster of the Red Sox, there were only 3 position players (Casey, Drew, and Ortiz... Ortiz coming after he was released by the Twins) and 3 pitchers (Matsuzaka, Okajima, and Wakefield... Wakefield after he was released by the Pirates in 1995) who initially came to the Red Sox as free agents. The rest came up to the majors with the Sox (12) or were acquired through trades (7, 8 if you include Mike Lowell who was just disabled). Overpaid? 7 make less than $500,000, 4 more less than $1 million, and only 4 make over $10 million - highest J.D. Drew at $14 million (although Manny made $20 million from the last year of an 8 year deal that would have ended this year), not even as much Rafael Furcal ($15.7 million), Jason Schmidt ($15.2 million), or Andruw Jones ($14.7 million), who all play for the Dodgers (and there are many many other examples).
Pro sports players are drafted from everywhere, so who cares ? They aren't your team. Most players come from Cali anyways. Even 10 out 29 USAT&F medals from Beijing were from Cali residents.
Compared to the Rays? Lowest payroll in MLB. $43.8M got them the AL East title and into the ALCS.
KRod was overrated. He had more chances for saves so he got that record only because the Angles won a bunch in a week division.
