Offiical Gateshead 1k Thread - Who will win Willis, Lagat, Brannen, Symmonds, Baddely, Smith?

im gonna have to go with nick symmonds.. nick willis for 2nd, baddeley 3rd.

look for the guys who didn't go or who had poor showings at the Olympics to race well, and the others to struggle, I would say baddely, symmonds and lagat all had good form but bad Olympics so I would pick them to have good races.

Winning time of around 2.15... and not one of them will get close to 90 press-ups before or afterwards

I think Symmonds is a great athlete, but this field is pretty stacked.

1k is alot closer to 800 than 150/mile, therefore the 800specialist will always win.

symonds- 1st place 2:19

lagat- dnf

Tough field!

It'll be a tight race; there's not much to choose between most of those guys.

I'll be hoping for my boy Brannen to be somewhere in the top 3.

I'm hopin for a sub 2:15 and if that's the case i don't think symmonds will be there, I say Lagat, Choge, and out of sentimentality Kiplagat

I'm hoping to see Willis break Walkers's 28 year old Oceania area record of 2:16.57, so maybe 2:14 - 2:15.

I don't see Lagat being in any better form than in Beijing, so I'm guessing out of the top 3 or DNF.
