The seven favorites for the individual spots not including the top five teams.
1. Kosgei, Hamilton- I wonder how he will fare in cold weather?
2. Heymann, Plattsburgh - I agree with mikejones999, he didn't look stellar but it was a weird race with some unfamiliar guys and a relax Kosgei. No major problems though, he is still awesome.
3. Williams, Fredonia - Is he gonna go for a top spot at Sunyac's? Will that effort wear him down a bit or will he pop a race and head to SLU with some major confidence?
4. Travis Stewart, Rutgers Camden - He's been running well (low 26/ high 25) at some obscure meets. He was an individual qualifier last year.
5. Drew Hodge, Ithaca - I'm sticking with my prediction of a top 15 finish for Hodge at regionals, which could make him about third on this list by the end of the year.
6. Stenuf, Nazareth - He struggled at the Saratoga invite last year and went on to improve substantially in the last month of the year. I expect something similar to that this year.
7. Anthony Lucero, Vassar - It is very close between Lucero, Curt Bell, and Pete Manktelow. Lucero's time from Liberty leagues at St. Lawrence (26:01) edges out Mantkelow and Bell's times at Pre-regionals (26:04, 26:06 respectively). Bell did just beat Lucero at 'Toga but I think Anthony will channel the ghost of Colin Sanders and take the last spot.
Notables: Bell, Manktelow, Donais, Avery, Chebot, Stelzig.
