I did mean Tim Shea earlier, not Drew Hodge obviously. Thanks for catching that error.

TCNJ gets respect because, since 2000, they are the only men's team to make nationals every single year from the Atlantic region. 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. They missed in 1999, but went in 1997 and 1998. So out of the past eleven national meets, TCNJ has been at ten. No other Atlantic region team comes close to that.
Of course, past performance does not indicate future success, but that's an impressive record. They're always counted out, and since most NY teams do not see TCNJ during the season, no one really knows what to expect. They might miss again, but it would not surprise me to see them punch their ticket to Hanover once again.
They may make it to nationals every year, but they get spanked at nationals every year too. when was the last time they have raced well at nationals? They get there every year and make the region look bad every year. Their coach should try to have them peak for nationals or at least hold if from regionals to nationals so that maybe for once they will run well there.

You're right, they get spanked EVERY year.
1997 - 12
1998 - 16
2000 - 19
2001 - 8
2002 - 9
2003 - 12
2004 - 18
2005 - 10
2006 - 8
2007 - 28
Sure, last year they probably didn't run up to their potential. That's a fair critique. But four top-10 finishes in the last seven years isn't bad. In fact, since the NCAA meet expanded to 24 teams in 1999, they finished in the top half of the field five times. But again, you're right, they're awful at NCs.

Y'know, if you're gonna insist on intruding facts into these discussions we're never gonna get anywhere.
-they didn't do too poorly the year before last... when's the last time your team made it to nationals?
-"past performance does not indicate future success."-i don't mean to nit pick and be a dick, but i am, in fact, a dick. i think you meant to say something more along the lines of "nothing is guaranteed". if you meant what you said, you're probably fairly retarded (and utterly confused as to why nyu is doing so well).
The past five years actually. and no they haven't done well every year either. But what has happened in the past means nothing. It is all about who is on the team now and how they are running now. You can have a team made up of the best runners in the region from last year. But that doesn't mean they would come out and dominate in the region this year. Things change from year to year and some runners get better and some get worse. So lets forget about the past and look to what is happening in the region this year right now.

I'm not retarded and I understood exactly what he said. He was saying past performances, of the last 10 years, does not indicate future success, meaning this year. I think if you didn't understand that then you're fairly retarded.
I don't know what NYU has to do with my analysis of TCNJ, but whatever. What I'm saying is that TCNJ is always counted out around this time of year. Most NY teams might see them at Paul Short, but that's about it. And for the past decade or so, they've proved they can run well at regionals. They've built a strong program and I don't think they get the respect they deserve. On the other hand...As far as "past performance does not indicate future success," just because TCNJ has been the most consistently successful Atlantic team recently does not mean they will automatically be at nationals this year. I don't think that's a retarded thing to say. In fact, it's a common expression when talking about stock performance. Just because a stock has had year-on-year gains of 10% does not mean that this year it will gain 10% again.

like i said, i was nit-picking. i agree with
your analysis of tcnj's chances and i compltely
agree that "just because TCNJ has been the most consistently successful Atlantic team recently
does not mean they will automatically be at nationals
this year." but i just don't think saying, "past performance does not indicate future success" is
not the best way to put it. sorry, the original way
it was stated just just struck me as very wrong.
and like i said, i was being(and am) a dick; i was
just being a jerk and commenting on things like most people here. to big whoop: alright you got me, you're batting better in the past 5 years than my team.

That would be quite a feat. But i see Heymann or Williams breaking that up.
Who wants to make out with the JareBear???
Anyone who has to constantly post out that they "are, in fact, a dick" in every post they make obviously has some self-image issues. but congratulations, we all think you're a rebel and a hard-ass
Some snow fell at SLU last night. Looks like the regionals course should be frozen and fast as long as it isn't windy. Should put a bigger gap between the top 5 teams and the 6,7, and 8 teams.
I'm looking forward to the Williams v. Heymann race a SUNYACs. Heymann looked like he had cracked a little at the Saratoga meet. Bad day or has he peaked too early? Williams is on fire as well.
how is the geneseo course looking for this weekend?
