I think it is time to start giving McDonough and NYU some more respect on these boards. They have been blasted by the majority of people who say they are nowhere near contending (while Cortland is the overwhemling favorite I think it is time to start to mention NYU as a possible #2 team in the region.)
Take a look at what their national championship team did last year when they ran the VCP course
2 1 646 Ryan Williams NYU 25:55.2
3 2 643 Jesse Schneider NYU 25:58.6
9 8 636 James McCarthy NYU 26:33.9
12 11 641 Spenser Popeson NYU 26:47.5
16 15 645 Matt Turlip NYU 27:01.4
24 23 633 Calvin Lee NYU 27:22.0
Remember Williams through McCarthy were all top 50 guys at nationals last year in XC. Take a look at what the new kids did this past weekend.
1 4 Zach Maher 26:09
2 7 Calvin Lee 26:20
3 8 Mark Hess 26:21
4 9 Sebastian Schwelm 26:26
5 13 Matt Turlip 26:34
6 ( 14) Jack Fitzhenry 26:42
7 ( 21) Geoff McGrane 26:56
Add in Schiender and you have a very respectable group of guys continuing on the tradition over at NYU.
Now on to the Kosgei race...UNBELIEVABLE. Nobody is going to beat him at Nationals. He is a completely different runner then he was a year ago and on a completely different level then everybody else. I can't wait to see what he does on the track
Sub 4 mile
Sub 8 3K
Sub 8:30 steeple
Sub 14 5K
Those are all possibilities
