I'll be keeping an eye on Paul Short this weekend too...Cortland and TCNJ...Haverford has run there in the past as well...Cortland might be back in the top 5 this year if they run everyone
its a good weekend to be a fan of the AR

It will be interesting to see if Heymann takes it from the gun. He's been running well with some great competition.
Watch for the geneseo alumni on the men's side to take 2nd
Carey too!
Who is running for Geneseo Alumni? I doubt Beck, because he is coaching Fredonia. It'd be cool to see Turner back in action. Moore and Hunkovic ran well at Fredonia, but the top 3 cut the course (honest mistake) so the times are probably 15-20 seconds faster than the full 8k. I would expect Plattsburgh to take 2nd, but depending on who comes back (Gallo?!?) it could be pretty interesting.
If Gallo and Turner were running the claim would have been for first overall.
No Gallo, No Turner, No Beck. Even though these three are not running, the Geneseo Alum will still mix it up well in the 2-6 team area.
Having those three in there would make that a hard 1-2-3 punch for any team in the region to beat.

False. Cortland would kill them.
The #1 team in the land is racing right now against some top division 1 talent! Go C-State!
and Paul Short is complete... Cortland 9th... not to shabby. tcnj...well thats a different story
Six Cortland finishers, and Greenlaw not one of them. He was entered in the meet...
anyone know whats up?
So I just heard the DJ on what I think was 95.1 The Fox, mention/advertise the Geneseo Meet saying that the cross country meet with be in Letchworth with over 15 schools. Props, to getting some publicity.

interesting to note that the white race seemed to result in comparitively slower times than the JV race. the ithaca JV team split up their varsity guys! i would think the varsity athletes, many of them, probably could've gone faster in a different setup race...this goes for most teams. interesting.
runners like walker and shea wouldn't be losing to their teams number 8-9 guys otherwise. their jv team seems to have PRd by about 30 seconds a piece on average...
And if you add in the other Beck, depending on which one you were talking about above (one is second best Geneseo runner ever at nationals the other is a 2x xc all american and 1x track), there is not a team there that could beat them... Including Cortland. This is assuming that all those guys are in some sort of running shape.
Not sure what kind of shape Jon Beck is in currently. Jeff Beck just finished 3rd at the first race of the Upstate XC series somewhere in the 16:25-30 range (winner was 16:17). Not an easy course, I would venture he is in shape for a mid to high 26 minute 8k on a course like Letchworth.
You greatly underestimate Jeff if you think he couldn't break 26 minutes at any point of the year, unless he stopped training completely for a month. 26 mid to high? not a chance he's that slow
give me a break, they are lucky they could find the course
is this thread now going to turn into a thread about the Has-Beens of Geneseo, they graduated guys, move on...

Agreed. How about more about how tcnj blew it this past weekend? They don't deserve to be 3rd in the region.
