Watching the Tour and seeing his picture pop up in all of my wife's celebrity magazines has somehow reminded me of Lance Armstrong's claim at the time he retired from competitve cycling. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he say that he was retiring in order to start being a real dad and spend more time with his kids?
Personally, I don't claim to be the perfect father, but I feel like I make a true committment. I'm with them every morning and evening, and I ensure a balance of time with them by refusing to work weekends or more than 40 hours a week. The time I set aside for myself comes before they awake and after they go to sleep. You get the picture.
Anyway, what I want to know is how Lance has managed to fulfill his goal of becoming a better father by jet-setting all over the world and pursuing one celebrity conquest after another.
I know, I know...I'm being judgmental. But doesn't anyone else doubt this guy's sincerity?
