Any cycling fans want to hear my rant about Lance?

Although I sort of understand your response, I say with all due respect that it's a bit superficial.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know everything about Lance's personal life, but it's no secret that the guy hasn't exactly settled into a primary role as a father. His kids are in Texas, and he is in LA and New York dropping the hammer on Sheryl Crow or the Olsen twins or Kate Hudson or whomever. Perhaps THAT is all that needs to be said.

I think he'll fit in just fine with politics.

Armstrong was forced into retirement by WADA and anti-doping scientists. Then the rats at NYRR picked him up and now use the doper to promote their marathons. BAA does that too. These policies have really ruined the public image our sport.

Shouldn't you wait for the answer to the question in your subject line before exposing us to your opinions?

To the OP -- I agree with you 100% on Lance. I feel bad for his kids.

The guy's former wife sticks by his side through life-threatening cancer, with no promise of a cure, let alone a return to cycling and a lucrative profession at that, and he leaves her for a life of celebrity and womanizing. What else do you need to know?

Kik never came into his life until after the cancer.

For those of you who read "it's not about the bike", remember he rarely even mentions the gf who stayed by his side all through the cancer. Why? Well, he dumped her for Kik(his ex-wife) when he started the foundation...that's in the past, right. Anybody see a pattern here?

I'd dump my wife, get married again, and dump the new wife for a shot at Kate Hudson.

Actually it was a mutual breakup if you read the book. The gf was ready to breakup but did not want to while he had cancer.

How do you know how much time he spends with his kids? How much time to most divorced husbands whom ex-wives have custody spend with their kids?

spend more time with his FUTURE kids.

Actually, the wife he deumped is far more attractive than Kate Hudson.

The last shred of respect I had for Lance vaporized when he endorsed McCain.

Next time Lance mountain bikes with Bush (if there is a next time), he won't have to keep a respectful distance behind him on the trail.

Lance also has a trist here and there in NYC, most notably with actor Alec Baldwin in the dominating role.

True dat. Reminds me how Michael Jordan retired from basketball in 1993 so he could be more of a family man... riding a bus 6 months of the year for a minor league baseball team.

Yeah, a dad who takes time for his kids to play with them, listen to them, and just spend time with them... those kids hate that. What was my father thinking when he played basketball with me, took me fishing, camping, and hiking. I loved to make fun of him for doing that even though all my friends were jealous that my dad did that.
