You forgot to add the Army Rangers, who are the best light infantry fighters in the world. Also, among US SCOM and all NATO militaries units, the Ranger tab is extremely coveted. In ranger school, you will train with SEALs, Green Berets, Marine Force Recon and even possibley British SAS.

I have nothing but praise for the UK SAS, they are good, but I would definitely not say they are the most competent soldiers in the world; by all objective measures, the U.S. Army RANGERS are the best light infantry soldiers. Israel, Belgium and Australia have excellent special command units, but like I said, it is difficult to compare. No mater whether you are an elite Marine, Delta, SEALS, U.S. Special Forces or a NATO country Special Forces, the U.S. Army RANGER tab is one of the most coveted insignia and training. (This is what you want on your resume no matter where you end up.)
I am fortunate to have been a part of a couple multinational forces and have trained with many militaries around the world; the average American soldier or Marine is better trained than what most countries call their elite units. Also, it is not always a matter of being a member of a special command, I have seen great units within the 10th Mountain, 82nd and 101st Divisions, etc., that are just as good when they have excellent leadership and strive to be the best.
Btw – The Airforce Special Tactics group operate with Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, and Rangers. STG airmen are specially trained to seize enemy airfields and recover distressed personnel in hostile territory. Air Force STG candidates endure some of the military's toughest training. I think their 35 week course is the longest basic training period of any SCOM unit.
just because you were a Ranger doesn't mean Rangers are more elite. I'm a former Marine and I freely (painfully) admit both the SEALs & SAS are more elite units, just as a Marine Infantry platoon would wipe the field with a US Army Ranger platoon...
Each of the 10,000 first responder organization in the US military, FED, State, and local has job specs which are standardized the same.
However, Marines don't fit into your question nor answer since they are designed as very high risk suicide attack men, weaponless assassins, and small arms killers.
Most college campus police have first responder SWAT teams based on the same standards that NYPD and the Green Berets set decades ago.
Typically first responders are split into risk assessment and tactical teams deployed to neutralize criminal and terrorist activity.
Boston Harbor Agency's SEALS are tougher than any other SEALS except maybe the Miami Patrol SEALS.

SWAT / Special Operations was invented in Delano CA and after the Watts Riots in 1965 was copied by LAPD. Since then 100,000 SWAT teams have been created worldwide.

Counter terrorism, hostage rescue, intelligence, high profile recon and direct action.
DEVGRU (Navy Seal 6) = same same as Delta in terms of job. Delta is Army and NS6 is Navy. They perform similar functions.
Green Berets
Force Multiplier - Go into a warzone, educate and train the locals into a fighting force. They are also direct action and guerrilla warfare experts.

Versatile small unit opts and/or covert opts.
Army Rangers
Versatile Light infantry especially used for raids, seizing airstrips etc.

As you can see they all specialise in different areas, but I'm inclined to give Delta Force the thumbs up.
I would think the activist's at the colleges would beat any of them, they would wipe out the special forces with micro-aggressions, the military are well prepared for most things, but I doubt they have been prepared for micro-aggressions, and if the special forces tried to counter the college activist's could just go to their safe spaces, bring on ISIS bring on the Spetsnaz, the activists would micro-aggression and whine them into submission.

The US Marines are not a part of the conventional Pentagon so your question is non-applicable to the USMC. As far as the conventional alphabet soup units are concerned, however, I believe we should all (and I do) respect and honor their service and sacrifice to the United States of America.
I have a short sweet answer for anyone who wants to know the truth about this question. These guys are all part of our United States Military and are all tougher than you can even process if you have not been there and done that yourself. I was refused entry into the USMC due to knee, back, and shoulder injuries from a 40 foot fall when I was younger but I wanted to try so for me to question any of these MEN!!! is not my or in my opinion anybody else's rite. If you've not done it yourself don't bash or put down any single force in our military because they are all badass and deserve the respect of every US citizen from a day out of basic to the most experienced US soldier to ever take the field. These guys are willing to put their lives on the line to defend the rights of the people of the USA be it the young, old, unable (myself), and even the ones who are just plain lazy. If You are a truly appreciative US citizen as you should be regardless of what branch of the US Military one of our boys is serving you should simply shake his/her hand and say THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME AND OUR COUNTRY. Just my opinion but also thanks to all of these guys you are entitled to your own. TR Morris

USAF Fighter Jet School is the toughest in the world by far. Pilots have to undergo torture, physical beatings, are left for dead in the desert in summer 100 miles from water.
