interviews for what position?
chief broski
Word has it that it is Scott Jones's if he wants it.
The job is not as you state. The university is looking hard for a female and will go to any length to find one. Mark it down now that you heard it on here first.

That would be a building job for somebody. The Redskins have a long history of good distance runners.
rumuour has it mike stahr is applying for the position!
OH sure they'll make it look good to pacify the AA and gender equity people, but Scott is their man and I'm sure he can't wait to beat foot out of Akron and Mitchell
This has Rita Arndt for sure if she wants it.
So what happened to the former coach? He go somewhere else, retired or get the heave ho?
another thread said the previous coach got promoted into the athletic administration at the school. they are serious about wanting to hire a female. unless all three females targeted say no it will not go to a guy.
I think you are telling lies...name 3 women that are half qualified for this position that are being hired...
1. Rita- Yes
2. ?
3. ?
Miami has high academic standards...I am sure the admin has to also be intelligent enough to make the right hire.
For all the qualified candidates out there who are interested.... if you are a male, you will take a back seat. Yes, it is 100 percent true they want a female or minority. It will go to a male if all the others turn it down. This comes straight from he mouth of an administrator at Miami making reference checks on candidates (cant believe she would actually say it). There are some great women coaches I know looking at the job. I just hope if they do turn it down, they dont go down the list to the unqualified ones....
Ohio HS Coach:
Did anyone say there were 3 QUALIFIED female candidates? Given you are at the HS level you certainly don't have a clue about how things work at the collegiate level. Everyone should know that any time a women's position comes open the administration will search high and low for females. There are not a lot of female coaches out there but some darn good ones. Whether MU can attract those few is the big question. Will they give the job to a female just to hire a female? Like this hasn't been done dozens of times before. I wouldn't want to list all the positions that went to "unqualified" people there is that chance. As was stated before, unless all the female candidates turn the job down (which they won't) then this is the direction it will go.
They were looking for a throws coach this time last year and when I spoke with the head coach, the one who has now moved into administration, he told me that they were most likely going to have to hire a female. The former throws coach was a female and they had no other females on staff so it made sense. Then they hired a male. Granted he was a minority so maybe that helped. He had been "fired" from his previous position at Louisville so I was shocked he got hired at a place like Miami. But that is a different story and getting off topic. Anyway, will they have to hire a female? You would think so, but not necessarily. I know he has called a couple of coaching friends of his to see if they would be interested in the job and they were both male coaches.
That kind of arrogance can only come from Ceronie.
Glad to see you are still not above getting on the message boards and harassing high school people, Coach.
Our school recently added a position. We "had" to hire a female. Obviously we could not advertise that, nor could we tell anyone that. Knowing this, we still had to interview males who applied. In fact, they had us even bring a male in for an interview, knowing full well that he didn't stand a chance in hell. We had about 75 applicants and out of that, we only had 6 qualified females apply. We had 2 males and 2 females that stood out in the phone interviews and even the administrators, both female by the way, who took part in the phone interviews admitted that the two males did a much better job. The 2 males had 8-10 years experience each. The 2 females were just graduated from college recently and this would be each of their first coaching positions. The job is being offered to one of them. It is an entry level position and I am confident that they will do a fine job, but the fact that we had to go that route is what bothers me.

1. Rita - Yes
2. Julie Stackhous - Yes

They can't afford Rita, so it will be Julie. And this time she will actually sell her house and move.
ummm that makes me start to think...just how much do you think Rita gets paid?? And how much do you think Michigan State will pay her to stay??
