This kid from from Baylor seems to be looking like the next Wariner each day. Both where one of the best preps in the 400m from Texas, then Baylor. Wariner ran 44.7 as a soph at NCAA while Betters ran 44.8 sophmore year(44.1 split).
What I find even more simliar between the two is the way they run. Even though both Betters and Wariner are the fastest on the Baylor team they were placed in either the 2nd or the 3rd leg, which typically are the work horses for Baylor, who break open the race. If you watch Betters on the back stretch, and home stretch, his long stride walks away from the competition, like Wariner used too and each get the job done of having the race won before the anchor even gets the stick.
Wariner seems to just have much faster footspeed, as you can see by the diference in 200m times, but I'm predicting Betters will make an impact on the trials, but he won't make the team just because it may take sub 44 to even go to the Olympics, but once Betters starts getting a little stronger like Wariner (they were both scrawny in college) then he will be one of the best in the world.
