Do these guys train on there own, or in some kind or group? Are these sub 2:20 marathon guys working full time and find time to train, or do the majority of them find ways to train in groups?

Didn't Bill Rodgers run 2:09 when he first won Boston as a high school teacher?

They all train in a group. Every single sub 2:20 guy. It's a big group. They live together in a commune where they sleep in a series of Three-Stooges style triple bunk beds. They all work the late shift at Arby's (it's a big Arby's) so their mornings are free to train.
I hope this answers your question.
they are all on the hansons brooks programme- living together, training as a group and working in the sports shops!
Seem to be working out well for this elite training group- look at Brian Sell for instance.
i have concrete evidence that every darn elite runner reads the message board and changes their workouts and racing schedules when given advice

Here's a picture of Hall, Sell and Ritz and the Olympic Marathon training dorm.
very interesting information, but that study was based on the athletes from 4 years ago. But still, great info.
