Has USATF announced where the 2009 marathon championship will be, or is this something that will not be decided until the annual meeting in December? I googled around but could not find anything, making me think they have not decided yet. Thanks.

They have not decided yet, else it would be on their calendar.
I am frustrated because I have tried about 5 times to start a thread about how a bunch of us letsrunners are gonna rock a 2:19 by 2011, and nobody ever responds. Have that many people really given up because the standard is now 3 minutes faster?
I am a longshot; I have never raced a marathon and even as a track runner I am only around 14:50/31:00 level. But I have been running 90-120 mpw since December and I plan to keep doing so until 2011. I will get 2:19. Because I want to. Who will get it with me?
Me second.
Has the 2012 trials qualifying window been announced? I assume it will start 1/1/10 with the exception of the 2009 US championships or will they make it earlier since they are considering having the trials back in NYC in the fall of 2011?
me three.
Maybe all but a few are too busy getting after it, along with whatever they do to support themselves and have something resembling a real social life, to dick around with reading this forum?
The 2012 Olympic Trials qualifying window will be open early once at the 2008 twin cities marathon.

I assume you mean the 2009 marathon? Can we really qualify for the 2012 trials this October?

thats what the twin cities marathon site says, the twin cities marathon on october 5th 2008 will be the ONLY race where you can get a trials qualiifier this year 2008.
says on the website for the men's 2012. wasn't the women's early option Houston last time??
They kinda have to set the qualifying standards for the women before they can announce a qualifying window, and that won't happen until December.
Ladies and Gents, take a look at the Twin Cities marathon site, yes, this october you can get an early qualifier for the 2012 Trials.

from website...
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on October 5 is the one (and only) opportunity in 2008 to qualify for the 2012 Men's US Olympic Trials with a time of 2:19:00 or better.
women, am unsure when and where your early qualifer may be.

are you suggesting that you yourself don't have a "real social life" by reading this forum?
also, pretty sure you can accomplish all of those things you mentioned above and still look at letsrun for a few minutes during your day. that response is so over-used and naive.
to respond to the OP: I'm also a roughly 14:50/31:00 guy who is going to do everything in the next few years to try and get a qualifier. keep fighting the good fight.
