All depends on how YOU feel during that workout. It doesn't matter what WE tell you.
As a comparison, in high school I once did 3 x 1600m in 4:38-45 with a one mile jog between each. My best 1600m? 4:27. Best 3200m? 9:32. It was basically 3 x 1600m at 3200m pace or faster. Now, what did I go through the 1600m in the following week at the Indiana State Meet ('96)? 4:41.
So, your workout tells me more about your 3200m fitness than your 1600m fitness. I'd say you could go through the 1600m mark in around 4:45-50 on your way to a 9:30-40 3200m.
The 1600m is a slightly different beast than the 3200m...especially in high school. You could run 4:19...or you could run 4:29. I'd say go to the track and run repeat 800s in 2:10. If you can run 3-4 x 800m in 2:10 with 800m recovery I'd say you should be able to run close to sub 4:20. As a comparison I could go through the 800m in 2:10-12 in the 1600m only to run 4:27-30. I never really had that ability to "get up and go" the last 400-600m.
So again, how did YOU feel about the workout and how are YOU able to run? Endurance based? Speed based? Can you cut people down in the last 400m?
