Jeffery Demps just ran a 10.17 100m dash at FL relays, besting his nation-leading time and moving up to number 3 in the world this year. I don't believe the time was wind aided.
Sick.

all i gotta say is wow.
definetly legal at 1.6.
does anyone know if he is gonna be at the trials
The question you are all clearly failing to ask is "is this FAT?"
I know that in Texas, meets are often handtimed and then reported as electronic/FAT. Who knows if FL is similar.
And the answer is yes, it's FAT:

Wow.
I just checked with Jack Shepard and the time actually ranks U.S. #6 all-time.
One mark in question is Brendan Christian's(sp?) 9.9 ht mark in 2002.
Wonder if Demps will get to run for UF. Percy Harvin ran SEC outdoors last year as did a few other players, but haven't run since.
If Demps can catch or play, I doubt we'll ever see him in track. Here's hoping he can't do either.
Jack told me that he wouldn't count Christian's mark in the all-time list because it was hand timed. I know he includes it in his lists, but he said for all-time purposes that he would only include FAT marks. A bit confusing, but I'll take the stats master at his word.
Hand times should not count in all-time rankings for sure. They are just too unreliable.
Florida Relays is no podunk meet! This is one of the most prestigious and longest running meets in the South. It's as FAT as it gets! Congrats, Jeff!

It is at a major Relays, yes it is FAT. X-man ran 10.15/2.0, which adjusts to the same 10.25 'basic' (you do knhow what 'basic' is don't you?).
I just got off the phone with Jack Shepard. Turns out it's US #6 all time! And yes it was FAT.
How do I know this, you ask?
I just got off the phone with Jack Shepard.
Yes, THE Jack Shepard. I am friends with him. Don't **** with me.
Oh, hang on, I'm getting a call from Jack Shepard... brb.
here's the video of the race....

Why does that guy keep saying "ranks # 6" but then links to an article that says the time was #5 all-time ??
Here is the list that I see. I count to 5.
100 METERS
10.08 J-Mee Samuels (Mt Tabor, Winston-Salem, North Carolina) 05
10.13 Derrick Florence (Ball, Galveston, Texas) 86
10.15 Henry Neal (Greenville, Texas) 90
10.16 Houston McTear (Baker, Florida) 76
*10.17* DEMPS
10.18 Roy Martin (Roosevelt, Dallas, Texas) 85
10.20 Brendan Christian (Reagan, Austin, Texas) 02
10.21 Joe DeLoach (Bay City, Texas) 85
10.21 Jonathan Wade (Evangel Christian, Shreveport, Louisiana) 02

Yes I know what "basic" means. We all read eldrick's crap. And if you'll look one post past the one you quoted you'll see I corrected myself.
