Why the heck is Aron Rono in the fourth heat of the mens 5k!!!! That is terrible. He should be in the second heat, or at least the third. I dont know if his coach couldnt get him in higher or if they just want him to run by himself still. I never see him run against tough competition. Always just running by himself. Put him in a heat where he will get last!!! See what he does against some faster runners!
Yeah I noticed this as well. Not sure how it happened. I have to think his coach put him down for a modest time. Perhaps he's coming off an injury?

don't know if it has changed much, but that would have put him right near the front of heat 2 in my day...
He should be in good enough shape to at least get pulled through at low 14 or sub I would assume. I can almost guarantee the 4th heat goes 14:15 and higher up if not slower. I bet Rono wins easily if he is in that race. 2nd heat would give him a better chance to run sub 14.
Heat 2 is full of guys who can't make the first heat and cuts off at around 14:05. Heat 3 is full of guys in the 14:05-14:10 range. Could be that Rono is just out of it.

well 13:54 thats pretty darn good for Rono, Too bad he didn't get in the first heat. I bet he could go 13:40 or sub if he has even more competition. Sure glade he didn't run in the 4th heat. Would have been just another GSAC win.
