seriously guys, I'm sorry that your lives are so empty that you feel you must rat this guy like this.
It's not a matter of ratting him out, it is a matter of following the rules of the competition and being sure only those who have legitimately qualified are on the line. Get it?
For example - a few trials ago I was in decent shape and had a goal of qualifying the US trials in the 5000m. I had run 14:09 earlier in the year but time was running out. I heard about a TAC meet set up in the next state and 4 post collegians like myself who were on the bubble were said to be planning a trip to run it to hit the standard. I called their coach, spoke to him and things were set up for a decent go at a qualifier.
I drove 4.5 hours and an hour before the 5000m, none of them were around. They never showed. I felt deflated.
I ended up running the 5000m with only one other guy in the race who I lapped repeatedly. I felt decent, but not that great but somehow still managed to run a 13:49 and hit the standard. Trials here I come, new PR WOOO-HOOO!!
Only one problem - the bozo who started the race and counted laps fired the gun lap one lap too early. It was a sanctioned event , a few throwers hit the standards they needed as did a hurdler. Who really would have known if I ran in the US trials when I did not deserve to?
I would have. I ran my last lap and told the starter that his count was off once I finished.
That's a good story, but not particularly relevant to this discussion. It would have been better if you had accepted hitting the standard and then tried to auction your spot on Ebay.
why do you care, jackass? way to narc out the guy.

I suggest that as punishment he be stripped of his victory at December's Charlotte Marathon. The fact that this would make me the overall male champion has nothing to do with it.
Really? Nothing? I think the fact that you are the only one calling for his Charlotte Marathon victory to be stripped speaks pretty loudly. Selling something on eBay, even if it is illegal, doesn't mean he's not faster than you. Nice try though. You do get the victory for the Charlotte Marathon's Sorest Loser, though. Congrats!
"I'd hit his old lady.
How much for her?"
she looks like a dirty girl too...
I believe Donny's post was sarcasim, in its truest form. Congrats!
Oh yeah, and by the way...You got beat by a girl?!? You see, I don't find it sad that you go beat by a girl, she's good and girls beat guys all the time...but what makes it sad is you are calling for the first place title of the men's overall WHEN a GIRL beat you!! What makes it even more sad is you are 46 years old. Grow up a little and get over yourself.
Terrible analogy, but thanks for letting us know you qualified for the Trials.
If the guys breaks the BAA rules, why not let the BAA figure it out on their own?
Check that.... wrote:

LOL(oops). I hope you are one of my friends playing along, or surely you are one of the dumbest people in LR history. Either way...you need help.

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit, is it?
Mike Aldrink would like to thank you all for giving his auction legs. The bid is up to $51 and the reserve has not been met.
I hope BAA does not squash this and ebay does not pull the auction. Imagine the fun that will be had when the race photos come out and you start searching for Aldrink.
I just hope the winning bidder is Anita Biehr
Should I paste each post I reply to so you can follow along?

I just have to say its alarming that there are so many people in the letsrun.com universe with nothing better to do than NARC this guy out. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people? How can you possibly have a stick wedged that far up your ass?
No thanks, Wally. The analogy may be terrible but where does he say he qualified for the trials? Read again and carry on.
I am going to put in an over the top bid and then donate the prize to Rosie Ruiz for her use.
I guess it's not my strong suit after all.

You're the guy that posted this on the ebay listing, aren't you?
Q: What you are doing is highly illegal, and has been reported to the BAA and Ebay. Apr-01-08
A: Thanks.
By the way, it is not "highly illegal" although it is against BAA rules.
The coolest part is ..."I will be in Boston anyways cheering on my fellow elite runners"
Job, well done.
