4:35 for the mile and 9:57 for 2 mile, 2:01.xx for 800m.
Winslow Township (formally Edgewood HS) is probably close, if not a bit better on the sprint side (up to 800m) then Willingboro (Dennis Mitchell and a bunch more - before the beer and women induced testerone levels) but I still have not seen any HS with the quality marks and depth across all distances and field events for both boys and girls. The only surprising thing is that King Carl didn't run faster than 10.5.
In that group listed is a former US DMR record, two (Lewis and Smith 4x400) gold medalists, a HS runner of the year (Reynolds).
My guess is that only the mega-schools from LA (poly, etc) would have similar marks across all events.
Thanks boropride for listing three deep with varified marks. It would be interesting to score boys and girls using the Purdy or similar tables and see where teams fit.
I went to Sioux City East in Iowa and graduated in 2006.

I was just at a rural meet in idaho and saw that Weezer high school had a 151.6 800 meter, and around 4:15 mile time. The town is really small. Maybe 400 kids in the whole high school.

Pretty weak for the most part. The 400m and the 300mh records were mine. I don't know if they've been broken since then.
What team has the best school records across the standard events?
What's the best way to figure this out? Use the IAAF tables for each event and add them all up and see what school has the best?
is this a trick question?!?!

I have the record for taking my skate off and trying to stab someone with it.
South Eugene does have some big records at their school. Jeff Hess still owns the National HS Steeple Record at 8:50. South still has the National 4xmile record and 4 x 1500 record. As a note, the relay records were set 6 years apart, so they were completely different groups of runners. Pretty impressive.
Craig Brigham still holds the National HS record for the Decathlon with International Implements.
South has the 6th and 8th fastest DMRs ever with completely different teams.
10K = 29:06 Bill McChesney
2 miles = 8:50 Bill McChesney
mile = 4:04 Dirk Lakeman
And I know Chris Sprague has the Oregon state record in the Shot at 67'11.
Thats all I know though, don't know the entire record list at South Eugene.
That is great, but you have to look at all 18-20 regular event records top to bottom to figure out who has the best records. There are lots of schools that have awesome records in one event group (sprints, throws, etc). I would put our overall records (posted) against almost any other school in the nation our size (1400 students currently, 1800 in the 1970's).
I would like to see Caly Poly Long Beach records. Even though I am sure it is a huge school, the records have to be amazing.

1600 4:05
3200 8:41
5000 13:44
5000XC 14:10
for a while they had the national record in the HS DMR, and the 4xMile at Addidas outdoor..
Ritz ran the 4:05.9 as a junior during his league meet ALL ALONE. I really feel like he could've run near or under 4:00 in the 1600, maybe even the mile.

Hey Sean,
Willingboro (in South Jersey), currently has 842 students in grades 10-12. At its largest, it probably had no more than 1200 from 10th-12th grades. While you school records are great, they are not the overall quality of Willingboro's (which is and was a smaller school than yours).
Sean,
Cal Poly SLO and Cal Poly Pomona are universities. Long Beach Poly is the high school in Long Beach, CA. It gets confusing in this state.
I agree with boropride.
The records that school has across all events is amazing.
It is much easier to have a few good school records than to have quality in every event.
A good example is the school i coach at, 400 students grades 9-12.

We have a girl at school presently who has run 10:25.50, 3rd best all-time at our school.
So, some good records, but the sprints are slow along with most field events.
