here are some school records for the books. here are parts of the top 10 lists that are crazy times for back in the day on dirt tracks for hs kids. I left out some modern times that were like 60's and on. just 50's and back. Can anybody find the real records for the 1912 or 1908 in the 100 because the ones that i found are slower then the ones this school converted for 100 meter times, or are these times that history lost and should be counted as new WR's at the time? Some of these time and throws are very close to the then current WR's. Looking at the shotput if the site I found is accurate the guy was within a few inches of the WR. Meredith Went on to break the 400 and 800 records and I know some of the other guys went on to be olympians because they have their jerseys hanging in the shelves at the school. |

Pittsburg State U. (pittsburg, kansas), former NAIA now Div 2. Long Jump 25-10.25 Kermit King, 1937 many have tried and come very close, but never done it. he was national class in his day, going against jesse owens. |
